Eastern Shore City Council Panel

Fairhope: Jimmy Conyers : Council President, is serving his second term on the Fairhope City Council. A native of Atlanta, GA, he attended Auburn University where he graduated in 2000 earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Management. While at Auburn he met his wife Ashley, a native of Fairhope. In 2003, after spending a few years in Atlanta, Jimmy and Ashley felt called to relocate to Fairhope. They have two daughters, Anna Bowler and Margaret. Jimmy is the oldest of three children, his parents Kay and Reid Conyers still live in Atlanta.  He has a brother in Nashville and a sister in Atlanta. Jimmy is a community banker by day, where he works for Merchants & Marine Bank as Alabama Market President.  In 2008 he earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. An active member of St. James Episcopal Church, Jimmy is also a member of Eastern Shore Kiwanis Club and Gulf Shores Kiwanis Club.  He has previously served as President of the Gulf Shores Kiwanis Club, President of Family Promise of Baldwin County, and Vice Chair of Civic and Governmental Affairs for the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber.  His wife and daughters are especially active in local theatre and ballet. Jimmy originally ran for office to establish a foundation for the future built upon the four cornerstones of responsible growth, education, economy, and quality of life.  In his second term, he hopes to continue solidifying and  building upon that foundation.

Daphne: Joel Coleman : Joel grew up in Mobile, AL before enrolling at Auburn University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degreein Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering.  He moved to Daphne shortly after graduating from college and practiced as a Licensed Professional Engineer for 20 years in a mid-sized, family owned surveying/engineering company, Rester and Coleman Engineers. Subsequently, he worked in the Land Development field for the next 10 years, first as the Land Development Project Manager for D.R. Horton and the as the Vice-President of Development for TerraCoreDevelopment Services.  Earlier this year, he returned to his roots as a Professional Engineer and joined the team at Sawgrass Consulting, LLC. Joel is licensed as a P.E. in AL, FL, and MS. Joel was elected to the Daphne City Council in 2016 where he has happily served for the last 7 years. Joel has two daughters – Emma who attends Daphne High School and Chloe who attends Daphne Middle School. He enjoys traveling, hiking, music, and attending live sporting events in his free time.  Joel and his family are members of the Church of the Apostles (COTA).

Spanish Fort: Carl Gustafson: Coming from Dallas after spending 30 years in tevevision media (some of which were with CBS). My family and I found the Eastern Shoreand quickly placed roots deep within the community. This meant getting involved. I have served the City of Spanish Fort as District 2  Councilman. the Spanish Fort Public School Commission, Spanish Fort Library Board, Spanish Fort Law Enforcement Foundation, Spanish Fort Fire Rescue intergation committee, the Spanish Fort Junior City Council, as well as develped programs intended to promote kindess  and compassion within in the schools, I firmly believe that Real Estate Agents, should be active within the communities we serve, giving back whenever possible. I practice this myself and encourage Agents to do the same in their own way.
